I have an almost immaculate MSR16S 1/2" 16 track (Dolby S) that I want to sell. Can somebody give me an idea of its value? The heads are in good condition, as is the transport. It has had only light home studio use and has sat unused for the last 4 years. I have the remote control unit also. I live in Surrey in the UK.

If it's in the shape you say it's in, I wouldn't be surprised to see it fetch 800 to 1000 Quid.

Cheers! :)

Thank you for your quick reply!

Where do you think might be the best place to advertise it? I noticed a DBX version did not get any bids on ebay recently. It had a reserve of £500.00. Mine is in very good condition, but is 800+ a realistic price do you think?

Ebay can be a very weird marketplace.

Some weeks things are flying with very active bidding on things that shouldn't be anywhere but in the rubbish bin and at other times a nice deck at a fair price doesn't get a rise out of the sleeping crowd.

Draw up a good looking HTML page for the deck, include several good, clear, bigger pictures, talk about the low mileage, home use and with any luck, you will hit the range.

It's summer too so many people are away on holidays in Spain, drinking Wopnies Red Barrel so, if it doesn't work this week, try it again in a week or two.

Cheers! :)

OK, that sounds like good advice. I was just not sure what would be realistic to expect to get for it. There do not seem to be many offered for sale, so there is no real yardstick. I am also selling some outboard equipment, but I seem to be able to get a good idea of what its worth by looking aound the net.

Thanks again for your advice,

:) Cheers!
