Sounds fine. Sounds like an upright as opposed to a grand, but it doesnt sound fake. Lots of reverb, it may get muddy in a mix. Sounds like the pedal is perpetually down.

Sounds like it could be fine....but as David pointed out...a bit verby. But it sounds real....just like it's in a big hall.

Man I wish I could play piano 1/100th as good as that.....LOL Got to get practicing....

Very nice playing - lots of power and emotion coming through.

It does sound like it's in a big concert hall.....I like reverb though so it's all good to me...

Good job bigbubba......

:) :D :) :D

Thanks for listening and commenting. I appreciate it.

This is FLStudio using the piano roll and a soundfont player. So the soundfont is JV1080. Don't know if that means anything to a piano expert.

Yeah I like the pedal is perpetually down feeling. :)

Every note is programmed by hand. I can't play like this. But I guess I can program the computer to do this. :)

Dogman, thanks for listening and commenting. I appreciate it. :)

Yeah the verb is to give a concert hall feel. This is going to be a piano solo. I think the musicians actually have a name for that.

Anyhoo, so the concert hall feel is the target goal.

Hey Ido, thanks for listening and commenting. I appreciate it. :) You and me both wish we could play 1/100th as good. I guess I could play the tune on the piano but that would be it.

This is programmed using FLStudio and the piano roll editor. Each note was put in place by hand and it took many walks back and forth between the keyboards and the computer to figure out what goes where and what chords are needed and how the timing is to be fixed.

Yeah, the concert hall feel is the goal. Just like a lone guy at the piano on stage while everyone shush's up and listens. :)

Thanks for listening. :)

Thanks man. It's also slightly smelling of "CHEATING"! I just feel like it's not real if you can't actually play it. That why I don't play my guitar solos slow and then speed them up.

I've been trying to learn the velocity controls so it sounds closer to real. :)

Sounds a bit like a balwin spinet.....a little verby but, not bad, might want to let up on the sustain pedal some. That is used for dynamics as well as expession. pretty cool though.

JPW, Thanks for listening and commenting. I appreciate it. :)

I guess I'll try to program the pedal being let up. As is, if I play a note continously, it plays as though the pedal was down and if I let up, it may not ring enough to carry the melody but will sound like the pedal being up.

This is all programmed using a piano roll by hand so it's not intuitive where to just lift my foot up. :)

Anyhoo, I'll dial down the verb a little and try to update the piece with the pedal being up in places. :)

Thanks again for listening. :)

That sounds like a pain in the ass to do....is it any fun at all?

It's interesting. I mean did you make a mistake? Yeah? Well, just change the note over to the correct one. Re-render and you have the complete track done. Just like that. If you wanna try a different interval or different effects or different chords or other things, just edit them and you're done with the song. No setting up the piano and the mics and quiet setting required to record.

On the other hand, I have to play it 10,000 time on the keyboards and try to remember how much of it is played in one measure and where the measures start and end. Then walk back to the computer and try to put it down in notes on a piano roll. Tunes that have more than 8th notes and have a lot of sway in the singing are harder to mimic. :)

So there you have it. :)

The tone and rhythm is like an interesting combination trance-like and driving. If you could tweak the sustain or verb a little, especially on the right side (I’m listening on cans), it’d be perfect. Maybe edit the click at the very end of the file as it snaps you back to reality abruptly.

Very cool man. I think arranging and programming is a talent/skill all on it's own. It does have a verby/sustain thing going on but on my monitors I don't find it distracting. Very well arranged man.

Take care

Timothy Lawler - Thanks very much for listening and commenting. :) I appreciate your input. Currently, working on second version with half the amount of current verb. Also will remove that dumb click. It's amazing the kinda crap that sneaks into clips while mp3 converting. :D

gbav - Thank for listening and commenting, Gary. I appreciate it. Like I said, I'm working on a piece with less verb so hopefully you'll like that just as much. Thanks for the kind words. :)
