Damn,...

That was a righteous off topic nonsequiter!

(Where's the red paint?)

Serious, intense, whatever.
Looked to me like you had murder in your eyes and torture in mind :D

That's just MY opinion. Post that pic and make it a poll...

Reel.. Psycho or serious? :D

Seriously psycho?

I'm kidding!

seriously psycho...lol
No, not seriously psycho.

Don't get me wrong, Reel seems to be a pretty nice fellow (even though he never sent me that CD :D ), but that picture haunts my dreams!

I know, that's why I said I was kidding at the bottom... :)

Never say never, my friend!

You apparently didn't catch the thread where I swore I'd get CDs to e'one that I promised CDs to, from last year or before that. Fact is, that I have loads of CDs burned already, but it's the darned label & card printing that's the part that's the big hold up.

Yea, I think I saw that thread. I'm just not one to pass up an opportunity to give someone shit... :D

Aha!

I'm the chipper Beatle,... or is that Paul? Okay, I'm the gullible Beatle,... or is that Ringo?

Right now, I'm the tired Beatle.

And George and John - what about them?

Respect: You are messing with sacred rocknroll history.

But what can we expect from a bunch of MR8 users?

BTW I think I'm going back to tape (score: Reel 1, Digital nil)
What do you think of the 414 mk2, Reel

Ooh! Scathing!!!

That's the closest I've ever come to actually being offended here...

And how do you bounce to PC? Do you just run your stereo outs to your soundcard also?

I did that when I was analog. You have to be very careful,or you have to keep doing it over and over again. Plus you don't have much control over it in software. There aren't too many things you can fix once it's on the pc. I prefer to do it digital and transfer the individual tracks and have control of the mix...

Uh,... since George and John are dead, I thought leaving them out of my casual humor was using proper respect. To dub myself the "5th" Beatle, or any variation on that theme, is nearly rock & roll blasphemy, isn't it? (... not to mention, completely unoriginal!!) For that, I beg yer pardon!

I'm not an MR8 user, but I have friends who are MR8 users. To imply they're a dumbed-down breed might be.... eh... well, I've already covered that in previous posts. Anyway, it's the MR8 that's a dumbed-down platform, & not necessarily the users that are dumbed down, as such. (Pretty diplomatic, eh? ;)... )

I think the Tascam 414mkII is a pretty good middle-of-the-road option in analog, for those on a budget, but if you can kick down the extra $30, it would be well worth hopping up to the 424mkIII, right off. [424mkIII: now $279.99/incl.-shipping at Zzounds!] If you are determined to get the 414mkII, I think you can get decent results and have good flexibility with it, in it's own right.

Analog rules, aye!;)

  ;)

Analog to Digital

I was thinking I'd transfer all 4 tracks to the VF16 if I get anything worth working on (I'm not really giving up digital completely!).

Only joking about the MR8 users - so please Cellar don't be offended. :)

In fact the MR8 looks like fun, but its price here in the UK is equal to about $500 (USD), while the Tascam 414 is going for about 220 USD. (Worth crossing Abbey Road for).

Reel you and I were writing at the same time! Thanks for the info. For some reason the 424 isn't so discounted over here (UK).

Ehh, think nothing of it.
Actually, I'm feeling pretty dumbed-up today, but nothing at all to do with the MR8.

Anyway, any shortcomings in my stuff is entirely user-induced. On a bad day, all I really have to complain about the MR8 are the buttons and CF... and...*"You're just......too......RED!!!"*.

*(Okay, so who has seen "Fight Club"? Remember the part when their "first recruit" is trying to badger the prospective recruit? "You're just......too......BLONDE!!!". :D )*

never mind...ignore me...did I mention I'm not feeling "well"?
