MR8 question

Please forgive me if this is a dumb question, but is it possible to put a wav file (which in this case is a drum track made in Fruity Loops) and put it on a compact flash card so as it can be read as a track in the MR8? I would like to record other tracks using the MR8(gtr, bass, etc) to fit this drum track. Thank you.
 
keep in mind i havent tried this before....but in theory i guess you could create a blank track on the mr8, then hook it up to your computer, then copy the file into the mr8 folder (E: removable disk) that shows up in my computer. i guess it could work. check it out, let us know
 
YEs, works great. I create drums/bass/keys tracks on PC. Transfer to MR8 via WavManager and then record live tracks to go with them. Then send result back to PC for mixdown.

Well, I tried this and can't seem to figure it out. What exactly did you do to the wav file before transferring it to the MR8 using wavmanager?
 
I can get all the way to where there is a progress bar showing how much has been transferred, but the bar appears to "freeze" about a centimeter into the progress bar. How long should this process take?
 
Nevermind. Just got it to work. Had to transfer using a flash card reader instead of that silly USB mode on the MR8. Oh well, whatever works. Thanks again for your help.
 
I've had no problems using the USB approach on my Dell PC. Can transfer 1-8 tracks fine, but the process is a little slow.

I accidentally deleted the wrong .wav once and tried to transfer it back to CF from my hard drive via card reader, but once I put the CF card back in the mr8 I couldn't find the file?

Is there a specific folder which it needs to be placed in for the mr8 to recognize/find the .wav? The file name had not been changed to my knowledge...

I recently repeated the mistake and this gives me new hope that I won't have to start over again!
 
Keep in mind that the file must be re-named to tr01.wav, tr02.wav, etc for the MR8 to recognize it.
