I am new with the mr8, my card reader works great downloading to pc, but how if any can I upload my same files back to my flashcard if need be ? It seems that the wave manager will not copy back to the card eevn though I have formated it.

Also if you download just the track files without converting to stereo wav in the mr8 can I convert to stereo wave through music software such as N track?

One last question Can I somehow remix adjust a stereo wave file once it has been converted through the mr8 to wav?

Thankyou very much.
Danny

You can copy the files back to the card, but that may involve tweaking the .adl file if the files have changed (if you've added or removed tracks, changed track lengths, etc.) A common scenario might be recording instrumental tracks, mixing to a stereo wav in n-Track, and then importing that to the MR-8 as a foundation for tracking vocals. The vocal tracks could then be pulled into n-Track and remixed with all the original instrumental tracks, etc. The MR-8 could be used to record everything for a 24 track mix in n-Track, for example.

The licensed version of n-Track will let you mix down to stereo wav (or MP3, but that requires some other program be installed.)

You can do mastering on a stereo wav mix, such as adjusting EQ, volume, adding reverb, compression, etc., but you can't adjust individual tracks (instruments) within the mixed wav.

I'll add on to what MRX said.

As far as using the wave manager, make sure your wave track is renamed (i.e. take a mono wave track songtitle.wav and rename it to tr01.wav )the wave manager will then import that mono wave file to track 1 on the mr-8. If you want the mono file to be imported to track 2 then rename it tr02.wav etc.

If it is a stereo wave file then you have to convert it to 2 mono wave files if you wish to import tham back to your MR-8. Just rename those stereo files tr07.wav and tr08.wav etc

That is how the wave manager will recognize them.

I use this technique to add tracks to MP3's all the time.

I use a muisc editing program called Cakewalk Club Tracks to convert stereo waves to mono waves, I am sure that many of the other programs can do this as well. Try asking around this forum to se what the other people use.
