I found your old Fostex forum really helpful when I got my digital recorder last summer. Now I am getting a "disc full" message. The manual states that deleting songs does not free up disc space, so there must be a way to do that, but it's not obvious. Thanks in advance for your help!!

You just re-format the disk
The Fostex DOS is simplistic and does not free up disk space following a "delete". Make sure you have downloaded all the "Songs" you want to keep to your PC (or burnt to a CD in your case) and re-format. The operating system sits in an EPROM so is not affected.
