My April 2017 song is "Mr. Dad Guy"

Mr. Bad Guy - Mr. Bad Guy by Terry Carroll | ReverbNation

You wanna trade me in
For something that I do
For Every thing you say I don't
You treat my faults like sins
But we both know what's true
You want me to change - but you're sure I won't
All the love we shared has grown painfully worthless
If every day to come will be totally joyless
Chorus
Yeah a son of a devil
Who knows I Just may be the devil himself
Yeah I'm Mr. Bad Guy
Yeah I'm a pain of the highest level
I can put you through hell - like nobody else
I'm Mr. Bad Guy
You wanna Fill me in
With problems I can't see
For every time you cut me slack
You say that I can't win
You're sure that it's all me
You want me to change - all the things I lack
All the love we shared has grown painfully worthless
If every day to come will be totally Joyless
Repeat chorus
Every time it rains you're sure that I'm the one to blame
Nothings gonna change, you know I'll Always be the same
Repeat chorus

A little abrupt start. And the drums immediately sound canned.

Love the vocal. Performance/tone/everything. Sounded nice. Great pop voice.

I thought the synths were a bit too busy. They're drawing attention away from the vocal.

Kick is quite a bit louder than the bass or the snare.

So the left side is the original mix, and the right is the house remix? :D

Tripm is right about the drums being very obviously canned. Same applies to the piano.

So prior to the bridge, basically every instrument is functioning as a "pad". The drums act as the rhythm section; the vocals act as lead. Everything else (piano, arpeggiated synths, etc) just act as filler. Maybe get the piano to play something besides straight chords? Or put some more changes into the synths or something?

Production-wise, I didn't think the dance-house stuff on the R side really fit the tune. Maybe my preference, but it seemed out of place. Mix sounded fine, and those drums can pass for this song.

The levels dont sound bad...vocals sound good. I just can't get past the feeling that with the robotic drums and piano that it sounds like the sales guy at the piano/organ store in the mall playing those preset rhythms to get people into the store. you have a good song I just think you need to find a way to get some more human into it and not so much perfection. if that makes sense
