Okay. I am just about ready to purchase the Fostex MR-8 8 Track Digital Recorder, but I still have a few questions. I have an iMac, and:
(GuitarCenter FAQ on the Fostex MR-8 8 Track Digital Recorder http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/love.music?p=p.FOSMR8&x=12&z=1620801143641)
----FAQ's----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is the MR-8 USB compatible?
The MR-8 is only compatible with USB 1.0, not 2.0.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does anyone know of a way iMac and other Mac users can make it compatible with USB 2.0, because that is what I believe my iMac has, 2.0. Also, do we need to buy a Compact Flash Card or does one come with? If so, where can I get it, and how much would be a good price to pay for one??
I thought this contradicted itself in the quote I listed above^^
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How can I archive my 8-track data?
The MR-8 can archive recorded data usinbg either the USB port directly to a PC or Macintosh computer OR it can archive directly out the S/PDIF output.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Data transfer with Mac requires a third-party CF card reader/writer unit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's going on??
P.S. Disregard the Compact Flash question, but boy those are rather pricy. I was thinking they'd be cheaper....
Thanks for I am planning on purchasing this tonight!!
