Is there software that does what the MPC2000 or MPC3000 does? Which one is better? easier?

Well my buddy has used both and really likes both...I know thats not an answer...But as far as the sound I prefer..I like the beats made on the mpc better...But he is using a rather crappy pc so that may have something to do with the beats coming of the mpc sounding alot better...Having both would be nice...

Both are just a tool. The question isn't which is better. You could sit here and argue both sides forever and never get an answer to your question. However the answer is simple.
It is the user/engineer that creates/listens/edits/ and mixes. The software and the MPC are only gonna be as good as its user

I have both, mpc is cool but a pc can be just as powerful. I really am stuck between both these days.
