I'm about to cop the mpc500 next week cuz i'm luvin the portability that it has to offer that the others do not. running on batteries is ideal for me to take this to work so i wanna know your thoughts on this machine cuz i have not played with it or any other mpc for that matter. i already know about the price of the 1k being so close so i might as well get that 1 so don't say that to me please. all i need to know is based on you guys having hands on experience with these machines is the 500 a wise buy or is it lacking wut the other mpcs have to offer?

I'm actually trying to sell my beats as quick as possible to get that baby..fuck all the other MPCs when it comes to having a reasonable amount of bread, i've used it at guitar center and seen numerous amounts of vids on it and this shits got the same to offer as the other ones, quantization especially that thats all you really need and the pads are genuine MPC pads you should definately cop it.

The portability of the MPC500 gives you a whole different angle on beatmaking.

An idea I think would work (what I'm trying to do now) - save up and cop the MPC500, then, keep saving for the MPC2500. You can transfer all your 500 files with full compatibility and use the 2500 at home, the 500 everywhere else.
