What is a good simple program for converting mp3 files to wave files. I can do just about anything else with the software I have, but none of it will do that.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I assume you know that it won't increase the quality of the sound. RazorLame will do this. You can get it HERE for free.

Heres a link.

I have never done this. I know Mp3s are compressed, but the conversion process from Mp3 to wave I dont know about. You should try both a converter and playing the Mp3 back into your Recording software to see if one sounds better than the other.

www.goldwave.com

just open the mp3 file and save it as a wav file...very simple.....

of course you know it wont go back to the original quality of the wav file that the mp3 was made from....you will simply have a wav file that sounds exactly like the mp3 file......

Yep.. I am very aware that I am not increasing quality. I just want to burn some mp3's I have to a cd to listen to in the car. I also want to be able to set levels for the songs on CW9.0 but it will not import MP3 files.

Thanks for the link Duck:)

Thanks guys:D

I will check these out.

if you have NERO burning software it will convert mp3 to .wav automatically when you choose your mp3s and go tu burn them as AUDIO CD....you don't have to convert mp3 to .wav files and then burn .wav files....just burn mp3s it will covert as well for you

(i'm sure some other pieces of software do this as well.. like Roxio or similar)

I know I repeated the same thing twice above, but I wanted to make it as clear as poss.

Gidge and I linked to the same page, but I think his was a better idea knowing what you want to do. Goldwave allows you to open an mp3 and edit it w/o conversion. If you want to convert it, you can do that too.

Thanks Matty Boy. I am leaning tward goldwave just because I have heard alot about it. I had just forgoten because it's been a while.

Thanks
