Some nice pickin there Ben. I like the mix you have on the guitars and the steel but I didn't care much for how you mixed the vocal. I would like to hear it dry or closer, more intimate sounding and centered.

Layth

Hey thanks for the comments guys... you have both hit on my week spot, thats no surprise to me... if there is one thing I am weakest at its performance... especially vocals, mainly because I don't perform and never really have... I guess I should hook up with a good singer, hu?? I'm glad you like the mix though because I've been working on getting that to sound a little more professional... thanks, Ben

I'll just ditto Layth and Gibs. The mix was very open and 3D sounding. Good depth. The vocs didn't do much for me, but I love the instumentation.

Love the playing and the instrument mix, but gotta agree with Layth about the vocals needing a more intimate feeling...that may just be because you recently re-did the vocal?...sometimes re-dos can lose their feeling with the tune, because it's such a turn off to go back and fix stuff.....at least that's what happens to me....I get sick of doing it over and over, and just settle.....gibs

I don't know what else I can add that hasn't been said already. I agree on the mix, it's great...except the vocals which of course everyone has already told you about. Great job man, I enjoyed the song. I love the tone of the guitars.

Well... any takers on adding a Great Vocal track??? I could mail a vocal-less sterio mix on CD or, if there are any VS 800EX users out there, a CD Backup of the song data... anyone willing??

Ben

Great tunage!! Love the slide work...

Ah..I'd give the vox a shot accept I'm a man that sings like a boy....er...meaning...I can't sing that low...well...I can...but I sound like a dork down there.

You know who would sound good singing this...is Teddie...I'm serious. He'd be the perfect voice for this song I think. Don't know whether it's up his alley.

I could sure as hell sing some high harmony though!!! ;)

bye ric

Thanks Ric... I went to your site... nice stuff :) Maybe if you could talk your friend Teddy into having a listing we could pull it off... and harmony vocals would be cool too... any others?? Ben

I had a listen and sang along, yup. I can actually sing some mean Country, accent and all... how do I know this? Don't ask... but imagine this muscle-bound Filipino singing Country in a biker bar... I didn't get my ass kicked, and someone bought me a beer afterwards... must be "ok".

I just read what I typed... ha! That's funny.

So, what can I do to help?

Well... give me the weekend off and we'll figure it out next week ok???

Ben

OK... I'm back and have landed from the weekned with only minor injuries... so whats next?? I guess I'll email Teddie and see how this might work... here it goes...

Hiya Ben.

Okey dokey folks. Ben contacted me, he sent me the items I need and I'll be laying down some vox probably by the end of the weekend.

Ben, I think this will be a nice little collaboration and hopefully I'll do right by your song.

Ric, thanks for the kind words and the vote of confidence! :)

Have fun Teddie... I'm eager to hear what what a virtual collaboration can do!! This is my first attempt at it :) Ben

I wasn't able to lay the vox down on this last weekend, but everything should be a "go" next weekend.
