MP3 Software ??

Is there any freeware or shareware for converting wav to mp3 out there ? a link would be great...
never tried this before so not sure whats good and whats not.
I have soundforge aside from Logic but I dont know if it does the conversion...did'nt see it in any menus.
Or what about media player

I use this instead of Winlame now.

Lame is good.
