Hey everybody, just signed in. I have been playing music for most of my life, started playing piano at a young age, (who hasnt). I now play the Native American Flute but still with a passion for guitars and keyboards. I have been working with Audacity but I am fed up with its limitations and am in the process of moving up. I have bought the HP pub, "Home Recording for Beginners" which comes with a copy of Reaper. So I am going to give this a go with the idea of moving on to Sonar. I have been working with a CD through Audacity and even though it isnt bad and have lots of comments on it, I feel I just need more..

So you will probably be seeing me a bit around and asking LOTS of questions.

Cool! Welcome to the board. Reaper is a great place to start--and you may never leave it. There's lot of top notch musicians and recordists around here who make killer tracks with Reaper.

One piece of friendly advice: give up the bold blue italics. A tad hard to read.

BTW--what kind/key Native American flute(s) do you play. I love that instrument. I have an old G Major hand made flute (more central american) and the 6th is drilled in the wrong place. Love the tone, but just can't use it with that bum note. So I've alway been half looking for a couple of Native American flutes. I'd love to hear more about yours.

Hello Strat, I have 2 F#m, Cedar and Hemlock, 1 gm Fumed Poplar, 1 Am Cedar, 1 Em Cherry wood, Em Aromatic Cedar and a Dm Aromatic cedar.. The F#m Hemlock and Em Aromatic are my own design although I have a friend in North Carolina who makes flute so he made them for me.

I became interested in the NA Flute after years of being out of the Music biz. I didnt think I would ever get back into it. Boy, was I ever wrong. The Flute gave me a new life at Music once more and I am enjoying it more than ever now.

I mostly compose my own music with Finale' and hand written comps. Love the theory and after 10 years of not playing, my head is spinning with whole notes and 16th notes..LOL..

Oh, by the way, I always use colored type.. Just a fab of mine, but I hope this is easier for you..LOL
