I recorded this at the beach, being in a relaxed frame of mind. Just exploring some more sounds on the eventide pedal.

I don't have any lyrics yet, so the vocal is just na nahs, kinda lame, anyway just to give some idea of how they might go.

Any and all feedback etc. would be great.

Hi.

sorry to say, but this diddent made any sense to me. Cant get the beat.
There are some interesting sounds, thou.....

I like this one. I don't know what an Eventide pedal is, but hearing this makes me want to own one.

Your beats always sound like they're on the verge of not quite fitting, but it always makes sense to me as the tune goes along. These drums don't sound so big and bombastic as I remember from past tracks - it's been a while! - but still cool sounding.

I like the long, drawn out vocal parts a lot (which sort of had a chorus sort of role here), while the other "verse" parts had a more challenging melody that I think fits over the backing, but just barely. Again, I like it, and I hope you post any updates as you go along.

Which eventide pedal did you use for this? A very interesting effect, during the verse sections of the song I had the sensation of listing to it underwater. I am looking forward to listening to updates.

What is this thing, Keir, 30mb? Took forever to download. :)

I know you're still in the conceptual stage, so that's what I'll restrict comment to (bombastic mix will come later). I think you'll need to tighten the flow and structure up a little -- it's coming across slightly wandering and slightly random. Perhaps when you lock in the hooks, it'll just "feel" more "familiar".

Sonically, you're on the right track -- very interesting sounds.

Move the snare a tiny bit to the Left and bring it down a little bit.
Rythmic collision is often your calling card - but it usually works - & does here.
Bass - is there one?
I like it - though it was/is a bit loud in cans.

Love the crazy guitar and off-kilter rhythm. Guitar has real nice tone.

Vocals could be good once they're in place. The ah's fit nicely. I'd back off the reverb/delay/whatever-it-was.

The drums need to smack me in the face and they're not. Needs a stronger kick.

Needs a bass. :)

But a real good start.

The effect is pretty extreme, not sure if I like the tune when it gets to 1:44 onwards, but I like the other parts

WTF kind of beach were you relaxing at to come up with this? :D

That's some wild ass guitar stuff you got going on there. I can't wrap my head around it and I like it. I'm looking forward to hearing it finished.

seeking - Probably needs a couple of listens to get used to. Thanks for the spin though

heatmiser - Yeah I'm not so sure about the vocal melody either myself. Thanks for the listen heat, good to get your feedback

Illsidgus - I used the Pitchfactor pedal on this one. It seems to be able to generate quite a lot of usable sounds. Thanks for the comments

K-dub - Dropbox seems real slow at the moment. The file's only the usual 7 or 8 meg. Probably the NSA scanning everything looking for subversive chord changes. Cheers Kev

rayc - Good suggestions Ray. For the bass I used the SG through the pedal pitched down a couple of octaves. It actually does sound like a bass, I just didn't pull it up in the mix as much as I probably should have. Cheers Ray

TripleM - Good points, well made, all noted. That delay is kinda OTT. I rarely use reverbs and the like but this one is growing on me. Thanks for the listen Trip

Btyre2013 - 1.44 is a bit over 1/2 way through, which is a bit over 50%, which is a Pass. I'll take it. Thanks for checking it out

Greg_L - Heh the recollection is kind of hazy now but I do recall there was sand and beer involved, in roughly equal quantities. Cheers Greg

The beat made sense to me the first listen through, and I love the crazy guitar tone and pitch effects.

I think the vocal melodies could be expanded a little bit, and build up near the end of the song (just felt the most energy there). I had a few ideas while listening... of course it's all up to your inclination as the writer. Hope you go on to add in lyrics and such. :)

Hey superelixer if you've got any ideas for the vocal, I'd really like to hear them
