So you play the drums at the same time as the guitar and vocals and you dont even know what you are going to play!!
Brilliant Walter. Pure genius way of doing things man.
Nice sounds man. Has an old 60s blues sound to the recording. Did you say you recorded to tape with little EQ done at mixing? Cool stuff.
I chllenge you though Walter. I challenge you to make a live album the exact same way you made this song, but do the whole album in one take with a few seconds brake between each song.
Try and do a good 12 songs with every one being a totally different style.
Go on give it a try, that would get into the Gunniess book of world records surely.
Thanks for that challange, but I have done this too many times to count. I currently play 1-3 gigs a week this way (either as a 1 man band, or with my trio), and played 250+ gigs that way, for over 20 years. My approach to music kept me under the radar, because the industry wouldn't deal with me, unless I would quit spontobeat, and do the traditional approach to music. I just get bored with that, because there are songs coming out of me nonstop. Live at the Alpine Hall, was done this way with my trio( I play just harp and guitar and sing), and metal on metal(solo harp and national steel guitar). These I released, and they got 4 star revues from Big City Blues Magazine. here it is:

I record straight to computer. I make sure I have at least 4 GB of hard drive before I start, because most of my sessions go over an hour. I am always running low on hard drive. I make a cd master of the session and delete it. It is like sidewalk art. The problem is posting them. I am on dialup and it takes to long to post a song, so I usually only post a few from each session. I have done about 400 cds in the last year. If you scroll down to the session that has Albert and Roy On MY Mind, you can hear an entire live set with my band, recorded in my living room, with about 20 people present. We played so quiet, that I used no PA for my vocals or harp.
Here is a picture to how I play the bass drum, high hat and snare, all at once. I saw a double bass drum pedal in the music store and got this idea. Wilbert Harrison, of Kansas City fame in the 50's, taught me the bass drum/high hat, one man band, in the mid 70's. I always wanted to add the snare to it, but couldn't figure it out till I saw the pedal a couple of years ago. I am blessed to finally have my own recording studio, and with learning how to record. I learn alot on this forum! Here is a photo of the rig. I am off to the seattle area for a week of club/festival dates - august 10-14th. If anyone lives out this way, let me know, and maybe we can hook up. Walter
