Has anyone ever daisy chained a Motu 896 HD with a Motu 828 mkII? I am trying to use all of the analog ins at the same time in Logic 7 but can't seem to get it working. I am only able to select one device at a time. I'm only able to select one device in Core Audio as well. Does anyone know how to set it up? I am using Mac OS 10.3.9.

Are you using Mac OS? What software are you using? I got my friend to come and hook it up to his PC but we were having a lot of problems with my G5. I had to upgrade my operating system in order to appregate device so my Core Audio sees them as one interface. Then, when I did that, Logic 7 would not work. I found out I had to upgrade my Logic to version 7.1 and it takes 8 - 10 business days in order for me to receive it. I had a pretty frustrating weekend trying to figure this out but still got the drum tracks down I was suppose to record over the weekend. So, it worked out but now I got to wait two weeks in order for it to work on my Mac.

Yea, it usually helps to keep your OS and software updated. A lot of the time that is how compability issues with different products are resolved.

Yeah, I realize that it is a good idea to keep my software up to date. The only thing is that I wouldn't think that I would have to upgrade my OS as MOTU have been saying for quite some time that the daisy chain should work before Tiger was out and also before Logic 7 was out. I think that I should have tried to use Audiodesk a little more than I did because that's what they refer to use at the MOTU website. I think that it was a problem with Logic.

I have had all of those problems especially with Logic and having dropped more dollars than I care to count on this system am quite pissed off !!! I was pleased to be able to get Logic to see both 828s with Tiger it is just a pity that getting Logic 7.01 to even boot is such hard work.

Im waiting for Logic 7.1 also. On the more positive side, the new MOTU audiodesk works very well. Im thinking of switching to DP.

I finally got this working. I had to re-install and erase my OS. Then, I had to download the Pro Application support from Apple. Then, I had to re-install Logic all the way up to version 7.1 . Then, downloaded the latest drivers from MOTU and install them. Then, I started up Logic....and it works fine now. The only thing that sucks is that I actually rented the 828 because I wanted to record sixteen tracks simataneously and test it on my system to see how well it worked but had to bring it back before I got to test it. Oh well, at least I got the tracks down on another computer and Logic is up and running again.
