Hi Gang - I've been doing battle with my Motu 2408mkII and Cubase 5.0 lately, and seem to have hit a brick wall, so here I am on bended knee.
For starters, here's the setup :
[1]PIII600 / 384Mg RAM / 2 - 30G Maxtor ATA100 7200rpm drives
[2]MOTU 2408mkII
[3]Alesis Masterlink Recorder
[4]Panasonic DA7 digital mixer
My problem is , I'm 90% sure, the ASIO drivers provided by Motu. When I start Cubase, I get an error message stating that Audio I/O channels 1 & 2 are unavailable due to being in use by another application. I am supposed to have 8 channels available thru the 2408. Without 1 & 2, I'm 25% sunk.
Let me state , for the record - that I NEVER have any other apps running when I use Cubase, and I have un-installed and / or disabled anything even remotely disagreeable to running good audio. I have a feeling there's a conflict happening between Motu's wave drivers and the aforementioned ASIO drivers.....If anyone out there is even remotely interested, or knowledgeable enuff to lend a hand (or an ear) feel free to join in!!!
