Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked before. I have had a look through the forums and couldn't see this thread anywhere.
I'm a newbie. I have been looking at getting the MOTU 2408Mk2 or Mk3 with PCI 324 or 424 respectively (looking to buy 2nd hand). I want to connect the Behringer ADA8000 to it through ADAT i/O ports to give me 16 channel recording. I want to record my band you see. (drums - 7mics, 3 vocal, bass, 2 electric guitars, 1 acoustic).
Having read up on the MOTU 2408 it seems to be a viable solution but I have since found out there are compatibility issues with the VIA chipset and my PC motherboard (Asus M2V) has this very chipset! (PC bought in 2006/2007).
So I was wondering. What alternatives are there in the same price range that would work just as well as the MOTU 2408 and allow additional channels hooked in through the ADA8000? With as little latency as possible!
Also worth noting I currently use Sonar 8 but I am also recently looking into Reaper.
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
