New to the net, new to the/any forum. I definately qualify as a "NEWBIE". Before I type a "buncha" stuff, I just want to see if I'm getting to the BBS. I have a modest single ADAT fed by a MACKIE 24-4 board. Man amI anxious to get in the ADAT info pool with you knowledgable dudes/dudettes.

You're here!

I also have a modest ADAT setup.... let's share Ideas!

Sincerely;

Dom Franco

My ADAT setup isn't so modest... :( It likes to go out and reveal everything!!! I have tried to tell it that behavior like that will do nothing but get you into trouble, but it doesn't listen!! Wooo to me.... :(

Guys, help me teach my ADAT setup some modesty. Please?

Ed

Yea, come to think of it, from time to time,
my setup could also use a lesson in MODESTY.
BTW, have you purchased the " Care and Feeding " video ? 'pretty much straight-forward. But, I think a lot of headstacks will be damaged by "well-meaning" adat users
that have never even seen a rotary head.

Anyhow,I did the cleaning and idler wheel replacement. I haven't seen the interpolation light since and the transport is faster and more precise.

and thanks for the "comeback" on my test posting. For all I knew, I was typing out into the cyberspace " Wild Blue Yonder "

Yo Dom... Pedal Steel, huh ?
Big thumbs up to anyone that can master that beast.Years ago, I bought a used 14 string, 3 pedal, 2 knee lever ('don't even remember the brand )I had it just long enough to learn the basics and become half way decent getting the bar accurately over the frets.
Then here comes my son with an interest in drums. Well the rest is history... Couldn't afford the drums so bye-bye steel.
ok, ok, I know this is an alesis forum so..

I bought my XT used from a local pro audio shop. It had only 300 hours on the head. Since this was my first excursion into digital, I had made up my mind that this will be the start of a LONG learning curve.
To my surprise, the step from my Tascam 238s
syncaset was nothing.

I have used the heck out this machine and have had NO serious problems. (see one of my replys concerning the " care and feeding " video.

I play a Strat and record Southern Gospel Music ( If your not familiar with this type of music, It sounds like country- heavy kicking bass, heavy back beats, A lot of STEEL GUITAR.
Good to talk with you, we'll talk again.
kmarsh.

Nice to meet you kmarsh!
I also went to ADAT from Syncaset 238 (no dolby S though).
I now have 2 LX's feeding a Panasonic DA7 console. So far, I love the ADAT experience.
See you around the bbs.
