I just want to make sure my wiring is correct in my setup. I have a behringer Eurorack MX 1840X console. The mains are going to a FM Transmitter. I know that is fine. I then have my EQ in the main inserts, and into the EQ's In ports. The EQ then goes out to a Compressor/expander, which I then send out to the channel inserts. When I plug the channel inserts in all the way (1/4") the channels go silent, but pull them out a bit and they are fine. Just making sure my wiring is correct.

Thanks

This thread is already the top Google result for "Eurorack MX 1840X"!

I think the mixer you have is the 1804X, not the 1840X. That would explain why I can't find any info. on the latter.

The manual mentions two aux sends, but no inserts. On these little Behringers, all channels sent to the aux sends are summed to a mono signal, then sent out to the external processing chain. The aux sends connect to the mono (usually left channel) input of the external device. The outputs of the external device go to the L and R aux returns on the mixer. These are all TS (mono) cables.

The aux send knobs on each channel control how much signal from that channel goes to the external device. The aux faders each control the mix level of the processed signal coming from its respective L and R aux return.
