when i am editing a vocal track i am using the F/X that came with Vegas4.

I do hear SOME added difference in the "mixed" version than the un mixed version.

but folks are still telling me that I need to add bass to my vocals.

how do you get MORE CONTROL over the adding of bass to the EQ ?

--i record the vocals into the mic which also feeds into mixer upon which i have already cranked upo the bass on the mic channel.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

thanks

(my latest mix is as follows:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/8/gullyjewelzmusic.htm

the songs: fall back (i mixxed it)
u still wit me (mixxed at a prof. studio)
surrounded (mixxed at a prof. studio)
--im still learning about mixxing down n what not --

i tried sev. dif. things . . . lookin at various mixxing books, and
software how to's, etc.

i didnt wanna go overboard on any one effect . . . (bass, reverb esp.)

let me know!!!

I couldn't get the first track to play all the way - all I heard was the Ted Bundy sample. My feeling is that you're probably being too conservative with your eq'ing. Default FX for every new track are noise gate, eq, compression. The range of the track eq should be more than enough. If you've maxed it out and it still sounds thin, then perhaps your recorded track is lacking a lot of low end.

BTW, "Mixing" and "mixed" have one 'x.'

lol -- the x lol

i know, but i type so fast, my finger automatically takes over at times. some words, my fingers like to do that. mymind says "1" and my fingers say "2" letters.

lol

im still working on the eq. the first time i only used "track eq". since then, i have gone back. deleted "track eq". and added "graphic eq". now i am working to adjust the sound qualilty under the plug in parameters for graphic eq. i hear a big dif. i hope others do too.

fall back - edited with track eq
fall the phuck back - edited with graphic eq

any dif.?

and THANKS A MILL. on the feedback. u dont know how much its APPRECIATED.
