So, what's the general consensus on the Studio Link-Studio Pro cables manufactured by Monster?

As a whisky lover, I figure you must be right. Otherwise, I don't see the logic of your reply, and I haven't got a clue about monstercables. I did put the electronics in a monster-guitar this weekend, but that is completely out of the topic.

sorry, i was making a rather obscure reference to OLD saturday night live. i have a habit of doing that when i should realize that noone will know what the hell i'm talking about. i don't use moster cables...thought about for a while and started doin some research here. from what i can tell, the general consensus is that moster is nothing but a complete rip off and that noone who has a real studio would be caught dead using monster. i could be wrong but that's definitely the impression that i got.

Yay! Religious war! :D

Personally, my cable religion is that unless you are using cables that are very long the only difference between any reasonable quality audio cable is in how well they stand up to abuse. Buying quality usually pays off, I expect this to be correct for cables too, although the really cheap patch cables I bought fifteen years ago are still working fine. :)

And, since monster cables are very expensive, then yes, I'd expect them to be a ripoff. Other religions may agree that they are ripoffs, but not in the logic behind the conclusion. :D

(Disclaimer: Mic cables are exempt from this theory, since impedance is more important there. ;) )

Great Microphone cables

I don't think Monster cables are that great personally. However, there is a guy around Tampa that makes a wonderfully clean & uncolored microphone cable that really sounds amazing. The website URL is www.vansevers.com/
:)
