I downloaded alot of the music people have made with their mr8's and was wondering how u get rid of that slight hum in the background... and I was also wondering how everyone sets up their trim knobs and panning and stuff for guitars and such!! I love this forum!!

The hum I can't help you with, the only time I get hum is when the gain is too high on one of the other pieces of equipment.
Panning is another story altogether. I just did a new song on the MR8 that originally started out experimenting with getting a fuller sound out of my Ovation A/E. This experiment led to writing a pretty decent tune and recording it in the same day....a new record for me! Anyway, I use a V-Amp...feed it into a mixer and then to the MR8. The V-Amp has left signal wet, right signal dry, so I feed them to different channels so that I can pan and seperate them. I also mic'd the guitar into another channel. I now had 3 inputs which I panned the mic hard left, the V-Amp wet signal hard right, and the dry signal from the V-Amp dead center. I fed tracks 1 and 2 on the MR8 where I counter panned the hard left mic to about 1:00 and the hard right wet signal to about 11:00. This all resulted in a very fat sound....I'm very pleased.

YO Buck,

Post it man! You were one of the first to respond to my 1st post and turned me on to the mp3 clinic. I'd love to hear your stuff! You are a helpful and motivating gentleman! (Did I mention exceptional dad too? )

DFMjoe,

The trim varies from instrument to instrument. Did you get a manual w/ your MR-8? Have you read ALL the threads on the MR8 here even if not related to your specific problem? All your ?s are answered here in these threads if you dig a little. Any problem you have/will encounter w/ the little red corvette is posted here (maybe not on page one.)

peace,
flat-9

b9,
I had actually considered posting this one...frankly there's a LOT of mistakes on the guitar part that I haven't had time to re-track. I may post it anyway with a disclaimer. Thanks for the inspirational words, you're too kind.
