Thanks people for your comments, I'm off to Germany and France for a work trip soon so don't have much time left to work on the song... but I agree with the majority of comments. No one picked the hideous digital clipping in the last chorus ?
Track Rat: Thanks for your encouragement. Seems like you either love or hate the bongo type drums.... glad you like it ... I've nevery really tried that sound before on a song but those style toms have always been a favourite with me

. Cymbals - can you explain what you mean ? The cymbal sounds on the TD-8 have always been the weak link I know.... but there are other options and tweaks on the unit.
(PS any news on the mixing of "Everyday" ?)
Phyl: Thanks for the comments on rhythm... those drums took ages to play right (ok only 2 hrs - thats ages for me !!

). Funny you should say that about the git.... I actually EQ'd it a bit to remove some presence... but maybe too much ?
Triple M: Thanks mate for your encouragement. It's a bit late to change lyrics now... I'm not apologising for the subject but If the wording is flawed or just corney I'd like to know - more detail ? Yes there are vocal syncing issues - but that wasn't the one I was thinking of

- I'll have to have a careful listen again.
mkg: Yes it's a light track.. glad you like it. Either love or hate the bongo's eh ?
Fed: Yes the git is mic'ed. I started with the guitar (
taylor 310) in my lounge (vinyl floor) and recorded it in stereo with $2 omni electret mic capsules hooked up to my portable minidisc recorder .... let me tell you I was impressed ! I've always struggled to get a good acoustic sound and this was certainly a step in the right direction. I agree it needs tamborine ... still haven't bought one ... maybe this weekend or I could cheat and find a tamborine sound on the TD-8
erichenryus: The song *is* fun to play

I hear what your saying about the harmonies. I'd like another voice on this one if possible ... anyone want to collaborate ? I'm very happy with the voal sound. My signal chain is Rode NTK into Focusrite Voicemaster with just a hint of de-esser... then back through the voicemaster again at mixdown with some light compression and EQ (high boost and presence). I take your comments about levels though... I should probably ride the fader a little more... at the moment the level is static.
Thanks again people ... I'll have another go at it in a few days time and repost.
