Hello people my name is mike 27yo from greece and i really need some help for making a monster vocal on cool edit 2.0. i search a lot on google and youtube the last 2 weeks and nothing, i found a 'sci fi deluxe' software that was supported but with some problems making cool edit and computer freezed, and asking me to buy it. i also try to mess up with 'pitch' and i found it but it makes my voice slower like loosing tempo, but its what exactly i needed but i cand find the way to keep my voice in same speed...sorry for using cool edit but i spend 2 years learning it and i will need 2 more learnig cubase. sorry for my english,i really need some help here guys. one love

What exactly are you looking for? A way to make your voice sound like a Monster? You need to set the software to keep the speed/tempo when you change pitch.

It sounds to me like like you're looking for a pitch transposer to get that Satan sound.

I love doing this sort of stuff for theatre and TV work--trouble is, everybody has a different idea of what a monster sounds like.

A few things from the tool kit to try:

-Pitch Shift. In Cool Edit, there's an option to change pitch but preserve speed. This is the one you need.

-After pitch shift, play with the Modulation effects. Chorus can be a good one--just play with the settings until you get what you want.

-I've also sometimes played with adding just a bit of the distortion effects actually meant for guitars. Again you'll have to play with settings because all the guitar presets are too much.

-Sometimes adding reverb can work, other times keeping the above dry is the bet bet.

Chain in an FX buss, pitch shift up (or down) an octave +-, then modulate that pitch-shifted sound and mix it in to the main track at a lower volume.

One more way is dropping the pitch and try blending other sounds like animals with your own, you will also enjoy doing this.

1 thanks for helping me.2 my english is not pro..but i actually use cool edit 2.1 and it dosent have pitch shift but only pitch bender, there is were i success making the 'monster, bad, evil ' voice like you say but it keeps slowin down the vocal speed!!!thats actually my problem... now.. i try to mess with chorus effect like you say but it dosent help me, still the speed of the vocal keeps slowing down after 3 sec, i try everything at pitch bender like putting numbers and mess up but nothing. the bad thing is that it dosent support extra effects 'vst'

Okay. In CEP 2.1 the pitch shift effect you want should be found under Effects/Time and Pitch/Stretch then tick the box that says "Pitch Shift, preserves tempo". That should give you what you need. Drag the bar to experiment with how low you want to go.

Once you've lowered the pitch, have a play with the Chorus to add the extra something.

yeaaahhhhhh your the boss man thanks a lot my friend, it was unpossible to find it my self thanks again for the help peaceeee
