Very awesome! Intl collab? Daaaayyyyuuuuummmm! It's like you built a time machine that can travel between different countries and back to the 70's. Me like! :)

Well here's my review, late but its taken time to get round to it...

Great musicianship all round, excellent playing.

Horns= awesome, what a tone and "feel"
Spot on drumming
Excellent bass playing (well done Pedullist;) )
Beautiful backing vocals
Right on the money lead vocals (not his natural key, a bit high in places but carried off okay)
Nice, cheesy k/board playing
Lovely rhythm geetar

Mix works well, maybe a little more reverb on the vocals? It sounds great on my phones but soundsdry on my monitors. And definitely more width and reverb on the lead guitar...it sounds a bit "thin" in the solo?

Apart from that, a truly magnificent effort by everyone. I had some exposure to the birth of this baby and at times it would seem that it would never happen. The first 10,000 posts in the Hey Moskus thread was just about what toon to play:D

Anyway, well done to you Dachay for pulling it all together. A project to be proud of, thats for sure:)

Excellent cover and collab. This is one of my favorite songs of all time.Vocals are smoking!Lead and backing vox are great. The groove is right in the pocket and never gets lost.......bass and drums are locked..Drums sound a little thin but other than that the whole song sounds really good. The horn plying is killer.....who's play the horn?

Excellent collab.

Who mixed this and what was it mixed on?Mixing job is one of the best I've heard in a awhile in the clinic.

Kramer, It was the producer who mixed it, Mr. Dachay of the singing ensemble, the "Award winning Dachays".

Mr. Dachay, this is praise indeed. Ever thought of giving up your day job?Lol:D

Ditch the bitch, you know it makes sense;)

:D

I was under a lot of pressure here. These guys told me they would never work with me again if I didn't get this right. :D

Just kidding. Thanks for the nice words, Kramer. FYI, this was mixed in Sonar, then exported to a 24 bit wave, which got a DIY mastering job in Wavelab.

Actually, everyone's part was posted on an FTP server, and I thought some of the other guys were going to take a shot at mixing this also. However, so far I was the only one dumb enough to post mine.

Paul - Well, it's about time you got here! :) Thanks also for the nice words - although we need to discuss the cheesy keyboard comment. :D

Paco - thanks for the listen. This was a truly international collab. We had people from Australia, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Norway, the US, and Louisiana. :p

albish - appreciate your stopping by. This stuff is a lot easier when you have some talented guys to work with............... or at least so I've been told. :D :D :D

Sound D - good feedback. It looks like you and Paul are looking for more reverb. I'm always hesitant, since software reverbs always sound a tad chintzy to me. I prefer dry to chintzy. :) But maybe I'll play with the mix a bit more and see where it goes.

I didn't know the tracks were available. Are they still?

I believe they are. I clicked on the original link, and I got the ole' "ready to DL" prompt. Can I be of assistance, sax-man? :D --Lee

Well.....I could use that link.
The one at the top of this page is just the stereo mix. We're talking about a link to the individual tracks right?

Steve - they might still be available. They were on a server that a friend of moskus let us use for this collab. I don't know that he ever removed them.

If you're interested in them, I can check it out and let you know. FYI, most (all?) of the tracks are in MP3 format.

BTW, I haven't forgotten I still owe you a CD. I'll probably send it out this weekend.

It's no big deal but if they were up, I'd certainly download them and play with 'em. :)
I'm assuming that you didn't need me to recut my parts?

I tried to log on to the server and got blocked. I put a call out to moskus to check it out. I'll let you know what he says.

Let me know also, that would be cool. Good job guys, sounds like you all had fun with this.
