Hi im using a M-audio mobilepre audio interface with acid pro and occasionally pro tools, and i am interested in getting a MXL V67g mic and was wondering if i culd monitor my vocals live in my headphones while recording with that microphone...any help wuld be greatly appreciated

What does the M-Audio manual say?? It has a headphone out.

I have one of those. The headphone output works in that regard. At least with respect to what is currently inputing through the unit. I'm not sure about full duplex. The TRS outputs are pretty useless and seem to be more of a through (unamped), which might require a second preamp to use in that way. Or a headphone preamp. Or at least that's how it responded when I put the outs to the ins of my Delta 44 on another machine, many moons ago. The real question is do you want to be that close the computer while recording? Unless you have one of those fanless jobs. Or a 15' USB cable.

I just tested full duplex. Yes, and headphone out functions in that capacity. Although my levels seem a bit low for my tastes. Although expected, dynamic mic and just talking, not really pumping out anything hot. But previously recorded track and new track were present in headphone out while recording. Circa debian linux + jackd + ardour2 on device hw:2
