I had no problem before, but reinstalled sx 3 after getting my new comp, when I click on the monitor track button I cannot get sound out to listen to what im recording. I line in my guitar and cant hear myself play it although it records fine and plays back fine, is there a setting somewhere to enable sound through monitoring? or is it my soundcard? just curious ill eventually figure it out, but its just mind boggling

In your device setup, under VST Multitrack, there should be a direct monitoring checkbox.

m-audio delta 1010lt...... i checked the box no difference, i think it must be my sound settings.... i cant find anything tho

I would check the routing in your delta mixer and make sure nothing crazy is going on there. See if you can direct monitor there (no cubase) by routing the 1/2 inputs directly to your 1/2 outs. Also check your VST connections

Do you have the monitor button on the track enabled?

ok, i can montior by clicking the input and hear it, but i cannot hear other things and monitor the track... i want to be able to hear it all.... like whats normally playing and my line in

solution fixed thanks for all that helped sorry im stupid lol

bringing this back.... sorry ive been just doing monitor mixer on the m-audio sound panel...... and i really need to fix this problem..... everything is fine, it just seems the monitor button in cubase isnt linking to my audio

What is the track outputting to? It ought to be going to your main outs.

Also somewhere in settings there is a drop down where you choose what will happen when you hit record (one of the choices is "Tape machine style" ) I forget exactly how these work, but i seem to recall, one or the other may mute the track being recorded.

its going out to the propper output..... i am really stumped on this..... i checked through all the settings i could to try and figure it out, i can monitor it through the m-audio control panel by doing monitor mixer, but i would really like to monitor it properly
