Hi guys I made a MS paint diagram of my work place..I have one problem ..If you look at the picture you will see that the right studio monitor is in-line (as the colour red indicates in the picture) with my computer stand wall..they are about 2 or 3 inches apart..how much will this effect the sound ??
There is also another shelf that sticks out a little bit..
Any suggestions on how to fix if its a big problem ?
Thanks

My guess is that your desk and shelf won't really affect the sound any more than the rest of your room will. I'm no expert, though.

If you are up for a bit of experimentation, try putting a folded up blanket between your montor and the desk and see how that changes the sound. Try listening to a CD through the monitors up close then far away and see how the sounds change. Listen at low volumes and high volumes to see if the frequency response sounds different. Move the speaker onto a box or something a little farther away from your desk and try it again.

Have fun,
Chris

Ok i will do :)
thanks for the suggestions..time to experiment :)

VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Make sure your head and the two monitors make an equilateral triangle.
Also make sure that the montors are raised to the height of your ears.

peace... :)

Ok gotcha..I have the tweeters ear height.. that high enough ?
And between each point should be 6 feet correct ?

Make sure your head, the left monitor, and the right monitor are all the same distance away from each other. :)

Equi-distant.... like an equilatteral triangle.

If you have the speakers 6 feet apart then your head needs to be 6 feet away from the left speaker and 6 feet away from the right speaker.

peace... :D
