Hey guys,
I'm currently looking into upgrading my studio once again and I'm a little stuck on my monitor choice. I was going to go with the ADAM Audio P22A's but I got advice that with speakers that big, and a room that small (below) that it'd just cause you more trouble. Originally I was going for the ADAM A7's but is there another choice? Like right now I own the KRK Rokit 5's and I hate em (exagerated bass response and not very good high response). A friend of mine also suggest some DynAudio speakers and I was considering the ADAM P11A's if neccessary. However I dont know if it'll perform well in this room:

Yes that what ever you're thinking is what you are thinking lol.

No Diffusion yet but working on it. If necessary, all pannels can be rearranged to a better location (didn't use glue :D)

And why do you say properly?
It's not covered in foam and that's how I want it. Control is even enough and returns back pretty well (so far). If you have better positioning then let me know else it looks fine to me. If you're one of those guys who put absorption foam everywhere, then I'd turn around and tell you the same thing. Or at least how do you manage to keep you highs. Yet again, I'll just adjust the room to whatever monitors I get so I know what to add and subtract......

Regardless,
That’s not even the issue right now. Address the issue!

Ahh BTW,
The interface the I'm going from is the Mackie Onyx 1220 w/ Firewire and changing out to the RME Fireface 800. Reasonable sollution if I'm looking for more outputs and the ability to switch out the preamp? Is there something better? Please dont say 002 or 003 >:(

ever heard of bass trapping? foam is generally used to give the impression of treatment, a few rockwool traps would be much less intrusive, ideally your speakers shouldnt be against a wall as it causes LF buildup or "exagerated bass response".
Im not one to comment on monitors but having worked out of several rooms with the same setup i find the room the biggest variable

Rockwool?
Trap suggestion? Where would I add? I meen the corners seem well packed and the accoustics of the room did change after we put this stuff up. Are these like paneling? If so I probably could use those along with the foam. Presently, the room doesn't sound half bad. The only thing I'm unfomfortable with is the absorption pannels directly behind me.

Seriously though,
All I want to know, is what speakers would work best with that size room. Something as big as the P22A's (8 - 9" ) or something near the size of the A7's or P11A's (6.5 - 7") and my considerations regardless of the room (like would I intentionally need a sub if I went for the A7's for my lows, or if you're still on the treatment tip, will additional treatment allow me to use the P22A's in that small room)

As far as the speaker close to wall issue, where I'm going to put it, (those nooks removing the backs afterwards on the desk (where the books are)) I have some absorption pad behind it and I'll add some pading under the speaker to prevent movement. Not sure if I should add some absorption stuff around the speaker in those nooks though.

I give up... does this room enter another dimension... or is it a triangle...

And if you read between the lines here... you'll see that the other posters are trying to politely point out that it's not your present monitors that suck... it's your room... and new monitors will only suck slightly less...

I'd suggest reading up on room treatment... there's a bunch of great stuff out there... and buy the new monitors if you'd like...
