The mix sounds really good to me. The only thing I was thinking when I was listening was that the drums, especially the snare, might be a little too up-front, and dry sounding. It's not enough to take away from the song or anything, but I am wondering if the whole mix might settle a little better if the drums were a little further back in space...?
Cool tune!
Best,

Very nice tune Bob, the vocals are good, it has a nice lively feel, and a fun flavor.
The snare isn't too loud for me, it just sounds electronic, and therefore should probably be pushed back a little, but it'll depend on the speakers also.
It appears that Mamma songs could be your thing, this is cool!

Another fun tune brother. Has almost a Roy Orbison feel, a little dark yet boppy and fun. The vox are real good, could even be a touch louder. Really enjoyed the listen!

Hey Trip – yeah the vox are sloppily mixed, it sounded too thin or too thick; couldn’t find the right balance. I’ll take your suggestions and see what I get.I really liked the song. Fun to listen to. LIked the bass. Liked the little lead licks. Liked the Skype lines. Liked the harmonies.
I'd pull one of doubled lead tracks back a good 6-10 dbs. Make it less obvious that it's doubled. There's also a little flab to it. I'm thinking a small cut somewhere in the 300-600 octave might tighten it up.
Thanks Rob. If I pull the drums back a bit then the vox should peek out a bit more.+1 for the vocals being a touch louder Manslick.
Nice rounded mix and you have to at least complete a mother trilogy now. The lyrics lull you into a sense of timelessness until the fantastically incongruous 'hook up there on skype' line comes in. Triffic![]()
A momma trilogy. Now I have a mission.![]()
Pretty good mix.
My only nit is that the lead vox is obviously doubled. I'd turn one of them down a bit to try to make it sound like one, full voice.
Was that line "if the clouds are just right, you can hook up there on Skype?" Is that clouds as in water vapor in the sky or trendy term for the Internet?
Either way, I think you're fundamentally misunderstanding how Skype works!![]()
