modifying fender toronado..

I absolutely love the style of these guitars, and I've been considering purchasing one. I do use a tremolo bar, and I am wondering if I can swap the hardware off the toronado to add a tremolo bar. Can it be done? Is it a bad idea? Should I settle for a strat? Thanks.

I have a toronado. You could put a trem on it but it would require a serious body route. You might be able to put a bigsby on it with little modification.

I have a mexican toronado. The pick ups sucked but the rest of the guitar is sweet. I dropped a SD 59 and Jazz in it and it just sings.

Heres an alternative to routing-the Washburn Wonderbar tremolo-this one looks awful pricy though-I would check around online for them.
