Hello All,

Looking for some feedback on a few new tracks recorded with Logic.
One Guitar, one bass, one mic, one Rhodes, one K2000, one DAW.

www.CancerKillingGemini.com

These are unmastered but otherwise ready to go.

Thank you

Try posting one work with an easy click or two for a listen. Trolling through personal websites to find music is more of a chore than most care to bother with!

Really nicely recorded songs!!!

Everything sits well in every mix, so nothing to complain about there. Do you have a lisp? I couldn't tell if it was the singing or an effect.

This is really good shit and I think you know it. Hard to find faults: I don't like the splash cymbals in "umbilical"... Thats about it!

Only problem is I think I'm listening to dEUS - No actually, that's not a problem either.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

First things first, new link directly to the mp3:

(hopefully this will work better)

Second, I do not have a lisp but, yes the conversion to mp3 does seem to have done a little damage to the high end on the vocal. There's a subtle phaser set pretty wide that sound cool in the master file.

Lastly, the splash cymbals on Umbilical (another track on the site) -The other person to comment on the cymbals was also a drummer, so maybe I should listen!

Gonna check out dEUS now...

Thank you,
Eric

I was kinda thinking the same thing, though you kinda need to do something about the lisp effect in the verses (I listened to "Christcontrol").

As far as comparisons are concerned, I've never heard of dEUS but I guess they must be pretty similar to Nine Inch Nails (Beetlebum probably just didn't wan't to be this obvious). One thing that wouldn't hurt in terms of performance is more animation - that's one of the hardest things, but as well recorded as the track is, it kind of reminded me of those metal tracks from videogame soundtracks: I didn't feel the emotion the song is purporting to contain, it feels to polished and engineered. Like, I know that I should go through it again to confirm my first impressions but I just don't feel like listening to it again.

Hi Folks,

I took another look at Christcontrol - I was going for affected and effected on the verse vocal but probably took it just a little too far. New version
-
the effect is rolled off and the vocal is much clearer.

Thanks everyone for your critiques.

Fantastic, love it!
Great voice, wonderful performance, sounds very professional.
More please!

Yeah... This stuff is really well done. Nice tamed, yet outrageous guitar sounds... Crazy over-driven, and it works well with this song. I really, really, like the stereo, delayed effect of the cymbal thing, going from hard left to right during the chorus.

Yeah... Really, really interesting mix. You obviously know what you're doing, and you do it well.

Pretty good.

Yup, it sounds a lot like NIN. I can't really find any nits.
