Mixing with the recorder man drum technique?

I call bullshit.

Okay then, let's hear your homemade 2 mic drum tracks recorded in a bad room and mixed with loud guitars, bass, and vocals. I'll be shocked if it sounds worth a damn, and I'm 100% certain it would sound better with more mics.

But before you do that, make sure you're totally disagreeing with what I said. A busy mix and less than ideal room are the variables.

I'm assuming all of your measurements are correct? Did you use the string to place your mic's in the right spot? I think if you were to use large diaphragm condensers you would pick up the kick drum with thump just fine, but I imagine you don't have the budget to buy two large diaphragm condensers. The Behringers are 20hz to 20 khz but the roll off is around 400 hz so they're not going to pickup alot of bass.

I personally wouldn't go with anything less than 4 mics on a drum kit, and what Greg L said is right on the money, if you only have 2 inputs, buy a 4 or 8 channel mixer, You can get a decent sound with only 2 mic's but you have to have a pretty much perfect room,
