Hi everyone,
I am new to the board and glad to be among such knowledgeable people. I hope that you will rub off on me. I have had a Boss Br-8 for about a month. I am running a line from the br-8 to the auxillary jack on an akai boombox to play back and mix down to a cassette. It really sounds good through the akai when I just play the BR-8 but when I listen to the recorded cassette tape I hear the dreaded hiss and a some distortion. And the thing never sounds as loud or clear as the BR-8. I actually have the stereo volume on 28 just to hear good and it only goes to 30. I have messed with EQ levels, reverb and delay, and higher and lower volumes on the BR_8 and akai stereo. It's starting to get to me.
Question: Do I need something else to help the mix down sound as good as what I record on the BR-8. A friend of mine said I may need a seperate mixer but I just wanted to check with yall. Thanks for the advice and patience. Later.
