how long would it take to mix a track if i gave you just the vocal?

I could do it immediately, in under one second. ;)

That answer is based upon the fact that it sounds like you are asking someone how long it takes to mix a single track. That's like asking someone how long it takes to mix a spoon of sugar. Or shuffle a single playing card. :)

Glen, my thoughts exactly. Now if it a is a vocals track and compression/limiting is NEEDED and you want some type of verb added then thats another story. It would depend I think on how many issues there are with the track, how much fixing. If there are none, 15 minutes.

Even then I'd want to reference to the backing tracks to tell how much compression or verb I actually need to sit in the mix right.

I could do it WAAAAY quicker than you.:D In fact, I've already mixed it.:p
That's no fair, David; you're five years younger than I, you punk whippersnapper, you! You have the speed and energy advantage of youth. :D

you punk whippersnapper,

It takes a very old man to call me a whippersnapper.:(:D

Reminds me of the TV show Maude: John Wayne was on one episode. He calls Maude "Little Lady", and Maude's husband says " It takes an awfully big man to call Maude 'little lady'".:D
