Mixing problems.

It was recorded in my place, with no effects, no eq at all. just flat.

The Drums, 01' Pearl Export Select. Zildjian A and K cymbals.

The Guitar, 90's ESP M-I, 5150 Head and Crate 4x12 Cab.

Recording Equipment used was all Behringer.

Behringer UB-2222fxPRO Mixer/Preamps
(3) Behringer XM-1800
(1) Behringer C-1 LDC Condenser.

I used the XM-1800 to mic the Cab. Directly into the speaker cone, a little off angle.

It sounds like crap. Anyone got any ideas why ?? I dont think If i switched to a 57, the change would be OUTRAGEOUS. I know I would get a better sound out of a 57, but not far from what I have right now.

Anyone got any ideas ? Thanks.

I don't think it sounds bad...just raw. To me it sounds very "live". It needs some work, but is not terrible. How many drum tracks do you have? Isolate the drums, and fix them first...get good initial sounds. Guitars may need some eq, but you also need bass, so as not to have them stepping on each other.
But, not a bad sound.

i think that the drums sounds good, maybe miss some little EQ.
The center of attention should be guitars i think.
YOu should reduce the lows, and let the bass to take their place, i would also give a little boost on the highs for the guitars.
Also i think that the solo should be on a lower volume.

Yeah thats what i noticed, It sounds very Live. Its raw. No EQ, EFX added. Nothing. Anyone got ideas ?
