SHIT!!!! That hurt... I have a massive cold and an earache on the right side. Now it's bleeding.
:D

Thats great! People are checking out my work. :D :D :D

Sometimes I break the rules...

Sometimes the rules break me...

Sometimes I run my mixes through a an LFO, A Flanger, Infinite Delay, some Reverb, and a Stepfilter (not neccessarily in that order) with lots and lots and lots of lovely makeup gain on everything, and my mix literally sounds like ass...Like theres some guy in the bathroom farting wetly along to my tune, except by the time the tune has finshed, thanks to the lovely infinite delay, the guy has now turned into a hundred guys all randomly farting at each other in an attempt to see who drunkenly sings the best rendition of my tune with their ass.

Hmmm....I think I'm onto a bit of a moneymaker here...what do you think? :p

Sometimes my DAW literally fries (like last night) and I lose two weeks of hard work.

I like to turn of both my audio and visual monitors and just mix with my mind...I'm like a Jedi of mixing...a really bad Jedi of mixing.

Sometimes I do endless very subtle but wonderful tweaks..
... on a box that is in by-pass.

Sometimes i decide it would be a good idea to make my mixes louder with some compressor or L2, and toally ruin them.

According to some, you should think ahead and ruin them during tracking by clipping every snare hit ;) Saves money buying all those plugs :D

Me being, perhaps being little too open minded, was trying endlessly to pan my drums up and down because of the advice of chessrock gave someone else. :D

Sometimes I drink a six-pack, enable volume and pan automation on every track in my mix, grab the pencil tool, and try to draw a comic strip...it sounds incredible...

ROFL :D

i have done this more than once.
the one that gets me the most is when i'm ajusting volumes in the edit window
(in protools on a track with automation) and i turn it up..... and up..... and maybe a little more...... and then.....

the automation on that track is off

Sigh...

Sometimes, I notice that I recorded almost the entire album in 16 bit when I've got ready access to 24.

I'm NOT going to redo it now... :o

Sometimes I look at all my gear and realize that the only thing I know how to use properly is the Furman power conditioner.

LOL! :D I thought I was the only one.........

sometimes i think if i spend all my time reading about how to mix that i will get better without practice

yesterday i spent a few minutes drawing up a really sweet volume automation only to realize i never switched it back from "pan."

I laughed so hard when I first read this. I think I woke my Dad and it's 12:47am. Oh yeah, and my mistake is that I read and read up on things and I am still to lazy to record.

Sometimes I have my singers record entire takes without properly bussing the input to the track. Then I have to explain to them why they can't hear themselves on playback and that they have to redo their entire take.

Also, sometimes I record live via my MiniDisc which gets about 15 minutes per fresh battery and skips every 20 seconds.

But half the time I forget to take the MiniDisc off "pause" and don't record anything.

The other half the time I have my monitor line out hooked up to the headphone out of the MiniDisc and record silence.

*sigh*
