Haha.
Does "Nu-ClassicRock" even exist? I can't really describe us. But I would like to give you a pile of music we have recorded and I'm in the process of mixing and get your overall expertise, tips, opinions and everything else you guys are so great at giving on this forum.
Let me give you a quick bit of background - we are trying to bring out a 10-track self produced demo. Obviously because it's self produced I'm not expecting WONDERS. More I'm trying to get stuff as good as I can. The CD is kinda gonna have a storyline running inbetween the songs and stuff, but this is just the raw actual songs.
You don't have to listen to them all, it would just be great if you could listen to one or two and give me some overall tips on how I can improve the sound of the mixes. Also I'm having a real problem with mastering. Taking to a mastering house is out of the question so I have to do it myself - but at the moment I'm having some real problems getting a loud unsquashed mix.
My other main problems are getting the drums to sound nice aswell as standing out... cymbals are a nightmare - particularly the hi-hat.
Anyway I'll leave you to take a listen:
These songs I've done today, they have no vox:
Jazz Nights
Is Life Good Enough?
Conflict Of Interests
These songs are on our current demo we sell at gigs, I'm gonna be remixing for the final CD. These songs do have vox.:
Tincap To Rosemary
(Stay On The) Stairs
Z45
Thanks so much in advance, any advice helps
