If I plug a mixer into my firebox, Cubase will only record one track, correct? Once I have that track recorded, will Cubase let me dissolve it into seperate channels?
No. If you want your tracks separate, you need to run them to separate inputs on your interface (and route each of those inputs to a separate track in Cubase). The firebox has 4 audio inputs (2 mic/instrument + 2 line-in), right? So, you could only up to 4 separate tracks to Cubase by using each of those 4 inputs. If you need more simultaneous tracks, you'll need an interface with more inputs.
Damn. Ok, let me ask this. I'm recording drums, and I plug five mics into my mixer, which I then plug into a line into a line-in on my firebox. On each channel on my mixer, I have a different volume level and pan postion. Once it's alll recorded on the on track, will I still hear the Volume and Pan differences?
