Hello all...great site! Yes, i may have a dumb question? I am wanting to record drums for my bands demo (7 or 8 tracks at once), and have aquired equipment for a computer studio setup. I have the following: power mac g5 running osX, logic express 8, m-audio delta 1010lt and 192 cards, an 8 channel 1/4inch to rca snake, and a behringer xenyx 2442fx mixer. My question is: can i use the direct outs on each channel of the mixer to plug into the inputs on the delta 1010lt card? And is there a way to daisy chain the 1010lt and 192 cards together in my computer to record more tracks at one time? Thanks

Yep, that's exactly what you should do... Direct outs -> inputs one whatever soundcard. That'll be a pre-fader signal I think, tapped directly after the pre/gain. Ie anything you do with eq settings, fx (onboard or inserts), and the fader will be ignored.

That's actually good, because you can track and hear compression/eq/etc, but record a dry signal. If you recorded the wet signal, you couldn't un-apply the fx/com/eq later.

IDK if you can get 2 different sounds cards working at the same time. I beleive with the ASIO drivers, you can only run multiple interfaces if they're identical, so it wouldn't support your delta 1010 and 192, unless they use the same driver...
