New to forum and home recording. Recently aquired a Behringer UB2442FX mixer for use with my band.

Curious if anyone can help me with setup. The mixer has an onboard effects processor through the AUX3 bus.

I can channel the vocals through the effecs (chorus/reverb) and out through a subgroup to the PA, thereby controlling the amount of vocal to the PA. However, the manual says the signal returns to the main mix by default.

Here's the rub, my recordings have no effects on the vocals, they are dry?

Anyone able to help? Sorry if the description is confusing. I can add more info if needed.

Thanks!

you want the boards fx on the recording but they arent showing up?

do you hear them in realtime when playing?

if so, then your outputs to the recording device are in the wrong place in the signal path

thanks much for replying.

You are correct. I get effects through the AUX 3 bus to the subgroup, but not to the main bus.

With this setup I get the FX real time through the PA but no tto the main mix??

I have the recorder (n-Track on a PC) connected to the TAPE OUT jacks (this is where the manual says to connect the recording device).

The link below should take you to a top view of the board if it will help.

Thanks much for any help and patience!

Are the onboard effects normalled to the stereo aux returns panel to the right of your mixer? If they are have you turned the relevent return up? Probably return 3?

The AUX 3 return is turned up, but if you look close at the board there is a button to the right of the AUX 3 return...button up is Main and button down is Sub. Then the next button over on AUX 3 allows you to select which subgroup to return to.

When I select MAIN, the processed signal does go to the mix on the recorder but I loose the effects out to the sub and vice versa.

It seems with my current setup it is either/or.

confused....

Thanks for the help, I am going to work with the board tonight. I think I found the problem in the manual.

I have the vocals routed to subgroups 1-2. Above the subgroup levels there are two buttons: Left and Right. The manual says I can select Right or Left or none. If none is selected the subgroup mix is sent only to the subgroup out and not to the main bus.

So I'm guessing the dry signal is passing to the main bus and the AUX 3 bus is routing directly to the Subgroup mix and out to the PA.

Thanks for all the replies!
