As a continuation of my Central Station thread in The Rack, I would like to solicit recommendations on mixers for my DAW studio.
This mixer will be used mostly for routing cue mixes and external vocal processing (wet vox to headphones).
I would also like for the mixer to have fairly high quality preamps. I have a dbx channel strip and I need 2 more pre's for guitar recording.
I have been looking at a Central Station/mixer combo. I would not get the CS if I found a mixer that could had some of the same functionality and quality of the CS, tho:
1) Transperant signal path for output to monitors
2) Multiple monitor outputs
3) Headphone/cue mix output and talkback
4) Metering
I would not need more than 8 channels.
$500-1000 price range.
If the mixer could complement the CS without redundant features that would be great.
SonicAlbert recommended the Soundcraft M, E or SX series.
I was also looking at the Mackie Onyx series. Any input on any of these?
Thanks
