an mg mixer is probably one of the better options in that price range. check out the peavey and soundcraft mixers too.

that's pretty damn cheap. have you tried it Minion?

No I haven"t tried them and the outputs aren"t ballanced but either are more of the Direct out and inserts on many budget mixers aren"t ballanced either....

It probably doesn"t sound very good at high gains and it doesn"t have a very High SNR (80db) but probably ok for most beginner Home recording and at only about $12 per channel it has to be the Cheapest Preamp on the Market....

Cheers

I would without a doubt get a mixer. There are far more uses out of a mixer. Plus you will gain routing knowledge that it seems most people never learned since things have gone mixerless. Get a preamp later.

those jacks are combo jacks. you can use xlr and 1/4" plugs with them. i wish they were on every piece of gear. see the hole in the center of the jack? there are three little holes surrounding it.

Oh ok, thanks alot. I wasn't sure if my xlr mic was compatible with those inputs :p.

That is probably a nice little compact mixer, soundcraft is usually pretty good for less expensive stuff. I have a SC M4 and it is great for the $$ (i got it used off these boards from someone at a great price), very flexible routing, with sweepable mid eq, 4 decent preamps and even digital outs for when you run out of analog channels in an interface.
Yours however is still probabaly MUCH nicer than the little behringer mixer that i started out with, that i wouldn't even sell for $20 now, because the littlecrappy plastic part in power jack broke off and you need to be a surgeon to get the power cord to plug in properly. bah behringer.

Can I hi-jack this thread please? The Nady PRA-8 looks like a good idea for what I want, but I can't find any stockists in Europe - can anybody reccomend me an alternative?

I'm looking to get the ART MP Tube pre-amp for decent multi-tracking sound, but I wanna get a 5-piece drum mic set, so i'll need something with enough inputs just to get a usable sound into my soundcard (MAudio delta1010LT)... anybody got any ideas?
