I have a dual input EDIROL audio interface with phantom power which I have been using to record a condenser mic into a computer.
However I now also have a BERINGER COMP/LIMITER without phantom power, so my first question is, How could I use the BERINGER as it doesn't supply phantom power and it needs to be between the Mic and the Interface in the chain?

secondly I am about to purchase a PREAMP with phantom power which I think I would solve my above problem.....so my chain would be

Condenser mic to
Preamp (with phantom power) to
Comp/Limiter to
Audio Interface to
Computer.
Is this correct???

Also I notice many people have small mixers in there chain, what benefits does this bring..I dont seem to need one?

thanks so much in advance

There is nothing the Behringer compressor can do that a plugin can't do ten times better. Unless compression is such an integral part of your tone that you can't play the part without it just skip the compressor.

The signal path you describe should work.

Mixers are useful for various signal routing duties, like monitor mixing.
