So i have a few keyboards and a bass and a guitar. I need something to plug in at least all my keyboards and be able to listen to it on one headphone out or stereo outs. But with 4 keyboards, thats already 8 channels on a mixer and mixers can get expensive so it there something cheaper than a mixer i could get? like.... im not sure if im confused about what a mixer should do or whatever but all i need is volume and pan and more channel but i dont wnat to spend all that money. thakns.

You're going to need a mixer to plug in all of your equipment at the same time. There's no getting around it. Plug your headphones into the mixer.

Here's a thread on a homemade mixer/sum box.

Keep in mind that mine is a prototype thus mega-ugly.

You can make stuff pretty cheap if you know how to solder. A lot of times you don't even need volume knobs because you can do that on the keyboards themselves. But pan & volume 8 channels is pretty easy to make.

The bonus is that if you make one it will be light years better than what you can buy and it will probably be around after you are.
