My dilemma is this for months I have a problem with my Alesis MulitMix 16 2.0 USB. After a few minutes of use I get a rice kipsies snap, crackle pop that starts off mild and within 30 minutes dominates the audio. The mixer had to be powercycled to clear the problem before it returns minutes later.
I don’t want to try and debug this issue any longer. I’ve fought it for months, multiple threads here, and elsewhere, I’ve checked everything. I’ve spent over 20 hours trying to get it work, and I’m not wasting another minute on it.
I just decided to ditch the USB connection between the computer and mixer and use the mixer as a 100 percent analog mixer.
I bought an E-MU 1212M PCIe with analog and digital ins and outs to replace the Multimix’s “sound card” features.
I have audio coming out of the mixer and routed to the computer where it will be combined with VST instruments via Cubase and recorded.
My question is this.
I’m planning on routing the audio to the studio monitors from the 1212M and not feeding it back into the mixer and out of the Studio OUT output? Correct? Because I assume I would end up with some sort of feedback loop or something.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
