Mixer->Amp?

So, what would happen if I had a non-powered analog mixer, mixed in a guitar, mics, etc., and sent the output to my keyboard/acoustic amp through one of the channel inputs?

Can this be done safetly, or will I have to get out the fire extinguisher etc.? I have a a Peavey KB/A 100 amp, and a mixer yet to be determined.

So basically, I'm wondering if it's safe to mix the signal and send it (unpowered) into one of the channel inputs?

You should be able to do it fine. It may not sound the best, but it wont hurt anything, i dont think.

Sounds like you wanna set up the mixer to key amp as some sort of Live PA, huh!?
 
yeah sorta :) We don't have an actual PA and speakers when we practice, so normally we just balance the sound on our own amps and all that. But I was thinking it'd be nice if we can just mix it into one amp. I figure as long as the signal going into the channel isn't powered, it should be good to go but I figured it'd be safest to ask around first :)
