I'm a new user of Mixcraft 4 and so far, I really enjoy using it (I had been using an older version of Audition, but found it just too complicated to deal with for my use). I have successfully recorded a number of projects (I use a Lexicon Omega as my DAW) and the volume sounds great while they are still Mixcraft formatted projects. But, the result of MP3 mixdowns of those same projects ends up disappointing in that the volume is always WAY down to the point that I have to have my speakers at nearly full volume to have anything close to adequate playback levels. I have played with the volume sliders on the multitrack panel (trying to jack up the levels to increase volume while avoiding clipping) and tried jacking up the gain on the included EQ's and while those steps certainly boost the volume of the raw Mixcraft projects, the volume still reduces tremendously on the final MP3 mixdown. I fooled around a bit with Mixcraft's traditional limiter and that did seem to do some good, but I am fearful that jacking that way up will just drop the overall sound quality of the final mix too much. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I might be doing wrong or what I can do to try to fix this problem?
